We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. This statement explains what we’ve done so far and what we know still needs work.
What we’ve done
- Every page has a “Skip to main content” link, a logical heading structure and landmark regions for screen-reader navigation.
- Menus and drop-downs can be used with a keyboard alone and announce whether they are open or closed.
- All interactive controls show a clear focus outline, and text and controls meet WCAG 2.2 AA colour-contrast guidance.
- Form fields have visible labels, errors are announced to screen readers, and you can show or hide passwords.
- The site works at 200% zoom and on small screens without horizontal scrolling, and respects your device’s “reduce motion” setting.
- Decorative images and icons are hidden from screen readers; adviser photos have text alternatives.
What we know still needs work
We haven’t yet had the site formally audited against WCAG 2.2. We know of these limitations:
- The consultant and administrator dashboards are older and are being rebuilt to the same standard.
- Card payments are taken on Stripe’s hosted checkout, which is run by Stripe and has its own accessibility support.
- Adviser profiles are written by the advisers themselves, so we can’t guarantee every profile is written in plain English.
