These terms are the agreement between you (the consultant, adviser, mentor or coach listing with us) and Training Course Broker Limited, which owns and operates The Business Adviser Network at adviser-net.com. You accept them when you register and each time you pay a membership fee. Our website terms of use, acceptable use policy and privacy policy also apply.
1. Who we are
The Business Adviser Network is owned and operated by Training Course Broker Limited (“we”, “us”), registered in England and Wales no. 10855487, registered office 8 The Fieldings, Sutton in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, NG17 2TF. VAT no. 275 3633 87. Contact: admin@adviser-net.com.
2. What membership includes
While your membership is active you get:
- a public profile page, and a listing on the directory pages for your town, county and specialities;
- enquiries from businesses who message you through your profile, sent to your email address;
- quote requests that businesses choose to share with listed advisers;
- access to the members’ dashboard and its features (member messaging, interest groups and document storage, and the members’ benefits board).
We don’t guarantee any number of enquiries, leads or clients, or any position in the directory. We may improve or change features from time to time, but won’t remove the core listing and enquiry service during a period you’ve paid for.
3. Who can join
Membership is for businesses and self-employed professionals acting for business purposes. By registering you confirm that you are at least 18, that you are joining for your business, and that you are qualified and entitled to provide the services you advertise.
4. Registering and your account
- You must give accurate, complete information and keep it up to date.
- You must confirm your email address before you can pay and go live.
- Keep your login details secure and don’t share your account. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
5. Fees
- Registration: £150 + VAT (£180 including VAT), which includes your first 12 months’ listing.
- Renewal: £100 + VAT (£120 including VAT) for each further 12 months.
- There are no extra charges for enquiries, quote requests or group messages, and we take no commission on work you win.
- We may change our fees by giving you at least 30 days’ notice by email. A change never affects a period you have already paid for.
6. Paying
Fees are paid in advance by card through Stripe’s secure checkout. We never see or store your card details. Stripe emails you a receipt; if you need a VAT invoice, ask us and we’ll send one. Your listing goes live as soon as your registration payment is confirmed (unless we need to review it first, in which case we’ll let you know within 2 working days).
7. Membership period and renewal
- Each payment gives you 12 months’ listing. A registration period starts on the day you pay.
- If you renew before your current period ends, the new 12 months start when the current period ends, so you never lose time.
- Membership does not renew automatically and we never take payment without you asking us to. We’ll email you before your period ends (currently 30 and 7 days before). If you don’t renew, your profile is removed from the public directory when the period ends; your account stays in place for 2 years so you can renew later.
8. Cancellation and no refunds
- All fees are non-refundable. Once a registration or renewal payment has been made, we do not give refunds, in whole or in part, for any reason — including if you close your membership early, if your listing is suspended or removed for breaking these terms, or if you receive fewer enquiries than you hoped.
- Because you are joining for business purposes, the 14-day cancellation right that applies to consumers does not apply.
- You can close your membership at any time by contacting us. Your listing will be removed, but no refund is due for the remainder of the period.
- If a payment is taken by mistake (for example, you are charged twice for the same period), we will return the duplicate payment.
- Nothing in these terms affects any rights you have by law that cannot be excluded.
9. Your profile and content
- You are responsible for everything in your profile. It must be accurate, must not overstate your qualifications, accreditations or experience, and must follow our acceptable use policy.
- You must only upload photos of yourself (or with the permission of the people shown) and logos you have the right to use.
- You keep ownership of your content and give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to publish, format and display it on the site and in our promotion of the directory while you are a member.
- We may edit formatting, and may remove or ask you to change content that we reasonably believe breaks these terms.
10. Enquiries and personal data
- Respond to genuine enquiries promptly and professionally — we suggest within 2 working days.
- When you receive a business’s details through the site, you become responsible for them as a separate data controller under UK data protection law. Use them only to respond to that enquiry and your resulting dealings, keep them secure, and don’t add anyone to marketing lists without their consent.
- Don’t use the site or its member features to send unsolicited sales messages to businesses or other members.
10A. Online diary and bookings
- You can let businesses book meetings with you online, using working hours you set and, if you choose, your connected Microsoft 365 / Outlook and Zoom accounts.
- When you connect an account you authorise us to read your busy times, add booked meetings to your calendar and create or cancel the related Teams or Zoom meetings. We don’t read the content of your appointments. You can disconnect at any time.
- You are responsible for keeping your availability up to date, for attending meetings you are booked into, and for cancelling promptly (using your diary page) if you can’t. Repeatedly missing booked meetings may lead to online booking being switched off for your account.
- Your use of Microsoft and Zoom is also subject to your own agreements with them. We aren’t responsible for their availability, and a booking may occasionally need to be arranged manually if a provider is unavailable.
11. Your dealings with clients
Any agreement you make with a business you meet through the site is directly between you and them. We are not a party to it, and we’re not responsible for your services, prices, payments, cancellations or disputes. You are responsible for having appropriate insurance and for complying with any professional rules that apply to your work.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or remove your listing, or close your account, if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms or our acceptable use policy, if we receive credible complaints about misleading information or conduct, or if we are required to by law. Where it’s reasonable to do so we’ll tell you why and give you a chance to put things right first.
13. Referral scheme
- You can introduce new members using your personal referral link.
- When someone registers through your link and their registration payment is completed, we will pay you a one-off finder’s fee of £50.
- We pay finder’s fees by bank transfer within 30 days of the new member’s payment, once you have given us your bank details. If you are VAT registered, please send us a VAT invoice.
- You can’t refer yourself or a business you own or control. We may change or end the scheme with 30 days’ notice; fees already earned will still be paid.
14. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can’t legally be limited. Otherwise, we are not liable for loss of profit, business, revenue, goodwill or anticipated savings, or for any indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We’ll email you at least 30 days before any change that affects you materially. If you don’t accept a change, you can close your membership before it takes effect; no refund is due for the remainder of your current period (see section 8).
16. General
- These terms, with the policies referred to above, are the whole agreement between us about your membership.
- If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
- You can’t transfer your membership to someone else without our agreement.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
